The 9x50 is the popular silo filling length of conventional grain auger. Silo specifications are all a little different according to the various manufacturers and whether the silos are transported fully assembled onto site or if partially assembled on site. So, as a guide the 9x50 will fill silos of 50t to 100t capacity. At a maximum lift of 33’ 6” and intake end clearance under silo base of 10’ 6”, the 9x50 is well configured for the key tasks of filling silos at harvest time and then filling trucks from these silos post harvest. The drive options available include Petrol Motor, Hydraulic Drive (driven from tractor hydraulic remotes), PTO (driven from power take off of tractor) and Three Phase Electric. The most popular option is petrol motor. When set up with a 25hp motor, fuel and battery for the electric start, there is about 50 kilograms to 60 kilograms of weight at the intake end of the auger. An Assist Wheels option is available to attach, which picks the intake end of the grain auger off the ground for easy manoeuvrability, attaching of hopper, coupling to tow vehicle and upending of auger for easy access to chain and sprockets at the discharge end.
